Cellulite or the ‘orange-peel’ effect often develops when you have dimpled skin mostly on the hips, buttocks and thighs. It is a sign of being overweight but thin and slender people can also develop it. Cellulite means that fats and toxins are developing and building up in those areas. One of the best ways to fights and treat cellulite is to massage the problem areas. Massaging helps to drain away waste and also makes the skin look smoother and firmer. However, any exercise that works on the upper legs such as cycling and jogging also helps in reducing cellulite.

The following are the steps to massage correctly to reduce and get rid of cellulite:

1. Using any massage oil, cream or body lotion knead the hips by firmly lifting and squeezing flesh with one hand then the other. Work on all areas where you can pick up enough flesh

2. Stroke and smooth from above the knee to the top of the thigh and again from back of the thigh to the buttocks.

3. Start kneading the thigh from the knee to the top of the leg using deep movements of squeezing and lifting the flesh. This will also help in blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.

4. Wrap both hands around the thigh just above the knee and pull the flesh upwards.

5. Repeat on the other thigh

Remember to use firm movements and strokes but not that it hurts you. Gentle and soft strokes won’t work. It is not necessary to use a special anti-cellulite cream, any regular body lotion or cream would work just fine. Do this daily to achieve faster results. Also remove fats from your diet.
